What is an ENERGY SAVINGS ESTIMATE? (click)
The Energy Estimate is an assessment and consultation that consists of:
Your FREE* Custom Home Energy-Savings Estimate: Based upon our years of research, we have developed the Estimate with one goal in mind: to cost-effectively reduce your energy expense by half. Our highly-trained fully insured Energy Estimator will conduct an assessment of your whole house to identify which, if any, improvements will reduce your energy cost.
The Energy Estimator will spend about 30-45 minutes with you at your home. The focus is on two components: an Examination, and the Estimate.
A. Familiarization with your home, including your energy usage habits. This includes behaviors that affect energy usage, such as: number of people in the house and for how many hours, rooms most occupied, rooms least occupied, comfort thresholds, etc.
B. Inspection of your existing systems. Included is an inspection of your heating/cooling system, attic insulation and ventilation, wall dynamics, windows, heating of water, lighting, siting of the house on the lot, shade, etc.
C. Obtaining measurements and instrumental data throughout the house: inside and out, each room, the attic and the basement.

The Estimator will need to make observations and measurements of your house to determine what your energy usage is and what it should/could be. The measurements can consist of:
- The outside dimensions of your house and attic
- The size and location of attic vents
- The sizes of your windows
- The size of your furnace and A/C systems
- Use of a "blower door" to measure air leakage of your house
- Examination of your attic and wall insulation
- Asking questions about your energy-use habits
- ... and some others
After these observations, our Estimator will prepare a report that covers:
- Interpretation of our measurements.
- Grading of your home’s energy performance.
- Creation of a custom design for optimal cost savings.
- Prioritization of recommendations.
- Presentation of the categorized Estimate, allocating a priority to each category.
- Answering your questions.
What is the cost?
We do not have a fee for this service because we want to help as many homeowners as possible! When you schedule NRG SVRS to analyze your home and develop an Energy Savings Estimate, you get an honest assessment. We will not recommend a service if you don't need it. We send a highly-trained, fully-insured Energy Estimator adept at analyzing your home’s current energy footprint and finding ways to minimize it … not a salesman who is trying to sell you something. Not every home needs energy-saving upgrades.
Our Energy Estimator will provide you with a Estimate for implementing only those improvements that are necessary and cost-effective for your home. You can do all or part of the recommendations. You can do the work yourself or engage several contractors who can do the work.
